The Triennale di Milano
presents There is a Planet, an
exhibition that marks the centenary of
the birth of Ettore Sottsass, (Innsbruck
1917 - Milan 2007) in the Triennale
Design Museum curated by Barbara Radice.
This is a monographic exhibition devoted
to Ettore Sottsass in the spaces of the
Galleria dell'Architettura with a large
range of design and art production such
as architecture, drawing, photography,
furniture, sculpture, painting, ceramics
and glass work, publishing and writing.
The title of the exhibition, and of the
book, refers to a project that Sottsass
started in the 1990s but never
the 21 October to 25 February 2018, the
Botero exhibition is held at the
AMO-Palazzo Forti di Verona. Over 50
large-scale works retracing Fernando
Botero's career. His oversized bodies,
the fantastic fairytale atmospheres of
Latin America, and exuberant shapes and
colours unfold through an exhibition
that touches on all the themes dear to
the artist – a cosmopolitan attached to
the culture of his homeland, whose
painting cannot be pigeon-holed under
any one genre, despite its figurative
nature and classical echoes.
Over one hundred works, mostly large oils, recall the last artistic period of the great Catalan painter, featuring four-dimensional painting, scenography, great sculptures and mail art: Miró’s sinuous lines and sharp colours enable breathing in all the energy and power of the Mediterranean Sea. The exhibition is an opportunity to explore the artistic evolution of Joan Miró, who went down in history as a surrealist artist but who experienced several expressive models during his lengthy career, ranging from Dadaism to Surrealism up to Expressionism.
